tired~~~
yea, now, at 4.21pm
can't seem to sleep well these days
can lie on my bed and close my eyes for 30mins but still cant go to sleep ._.
i think im too stressed up...
yea, STRESSED UP!!!
mainly about the results and a bit about army

rumor is that results will be out on 1st march
seriously, cant it be slightly later?
then can book out haha
but im more worried about not having enough time to apply for uni courses, since im enlisting on 4th march,
and im worried for the future
have been talking to some peeps recently
never have i felt so strongly that we are all now at a crossroad
we all come from the same path, and are all gonna chose different ones
some will get left along the way, while others will take the same route as you
many will just go on their own roads
no doubt, you all will still meet up
but then i guess it wont be the same
just like how the transition from primary school to sec school, then to jc felt
you will gain many friends, but you will lose many as well

the topic of discussion nowadays is just:
hows a levels?
what have you been doing?
have you decided on which course to take?

the rush of time is too fast,
i havent had enough time to get to know my friends better, and to really sit down and think what to do next (well, after army)
jc was really a fast 2 years
its around this time too, 2 years back when i first stepped into aj, into ajchoir, into the next phase of my life after secondary sch
looking back, though it was fast, stressful and super tough,
i enjoyed the ride, though i will never want to take it again

its in aj that i grew, matured and learnt, not just knowledge, but about life
ive learnt that sometimes, giving up on something doesnt necessarily mean you can't do it; it can be because you know that there are greater, more important things for you to accomplish
ive learnt that when one doesnt give up, and keep pushing on, despite all the pain and negativity, the tides can still turn in one's favour
ive learnt that crying doesnt always mean that you are weak; it is a reminder that you are still human, and that there are things that you truly cherish
amongst many other things, these are the more important ones,
not the formulas or the theorems, those, many most probably will forget in time
but the larger, more important things,
those that will help in the long run

i recently chanced upon my senior's blog, and saw some of the things he wrote about jc life
really want to share it, cause of how true it is, though it is super long haha:

It was a journey. You had a map, nothing written on it. No paths indicated, no obstacles demarcated, no indication of terrain, foliage or elevation. You might walk over a pile of rocks, you would walk unsteadily, if you were careless and missed a step, you might trip, you might break something, you might sprain your ankle and cause you to limp. You might cross a river, it might sweep you off your feet, you might be swept away from your journey, but you might not – and you find yourself beaten, tired, weary, but on dry land. You might walk past pastures of glass, miles and miles of shattered glass, the remnants of preceding sojourners, who loved so hard, and fell so hard their crystal hearts outside of their ribcages smashed onto the ground. You walked over, leaving painful reminders on your feet, wounds that might momentarily open, that might momentarily bleed.
The weather was burning, you had to be fast, for you would dehydrate and burn, should you not. You were so tired through your journey, the zeal and excitement when you started simply degenerated and became a distant memory, it consumed your mind, jaundiced your speech, blinded your eyes, but never would you have touched it or felt it. You often questioned yourself, lamented about your choice, your decision to choose this path. You asked if it was the right choice, you asked if you could have been wiser. And you never got an answer. It felt cold, you were alone, you got used to the coldness, the displeasure of the severe slicing wind.
Yet, before you knew it, the sun rose. It was a brilliant orange, a resplendent light, a light that flooded the plains, lit the hills, brought the waters alive, shimmering, dazzling, twinkling and smiling. And you realised, hey, there are other souls too. Souls travelling the path you had taken, the roads that tripped you, pierced you, stabbed you, the burdens that formed paralyzing shackles round your ankles that made walking a tiresome affair. You all share the same wounds, the same pain, the same experiences but above all, the same goal. And surprisingly, it warmed and comforted you, for you knew that you were not alone.
While travelling, you filled up the map, one by one. At the end of the day, when you arrived at your destination, you realised that you have a map, a map that taught you the journey called life. No two had the same map, everyone had their own stories to tell, but one thing remains: you have completed your journey. You could pass on the map to a traveller adventurous enough to journey after you. You could share with him or her your scars, your broken bones, your pains and never should you forget, the pride and joy that you have felt at the end, when you have finished. You are a testament of bravery, of courage, of persistence, and of a warrior who lived through the hurts and tasted the sweet aftertaste.
I hate the scars, I hate the pain, I hate the memories, but I have indeed emerged stronger, wiser and older. I have learnt things that I could not have learnt elsewhere. I have gained things that no other place could offer. I have matured, deepened and gained a wider lens. I have found yet another treasure that I could hold dear – a treasure I otherwise would never have found.
quite nice what haha :X
ok that all lololol, praying for good results and for results day to shift :)
bye!

thank you-s

yes, i know this came uber late,
and the grammar for the title is wrong
and people from AJ dont even know this blog ever existed
but wth
im still gonna write this anyways
so... where to start...

so to

the people in my class:

my PW groupmates, Samuel, Gerald, Eunice and Dayna:
omg, you guys are the best PW mates ever. seriously love working with you guys and just having fun throughout the entire PW period. i know there were times when we felt so small and just didnt know where our project is heading but still, we managed to pull through :)

some guys in my class: Benjamin Loo, Ye Xiang, Sung Yang, Gary, Mark and Wei Jian
thanks for helping me interact with more people in the class, and just looking out for me. i really appreciate all the fun and shit we do in class, and out of class. oh and i really liked studying with you guys after graduation. you guys make studying so enjoyable, despite all the stress :D

my class, 09/11:
yeah, we are not the most bonded of classes, and i know we all have our differences but when it comes down to it, we can really get stuff done, and really be bonded, even if its something bad (like most of our class poning civics haha) and well, our class seems to give people the wrong impression, like we are really a bad class (since we are 09-11) but i think despite being somewhat of the underdogs of the school, i really like this class, of its people and its spirit

to my teachers: mr bell, mr chia, ms bok, ms chua, ms kat and mdm tan:
the most caring and zai set of teachers in AJ, nuff said haha. well, i did have my doubts on them cause they were a bunch of really different teachers. from the awkward mr chia, to the teacher that will always mindblow you, ms bok, to those that will first act super strict, but are actually super nice and caring, ms kat and bell. i'm really grateful that they came into my life and taught me cause they really did change me

AJChoir
yea, i know, by now i would have exhausted all the people i wanna talk about in choir but bear with me :X

Jun Wei, the sc of 2011:
'welcome to the AJChoir family' this is the first thing i ever remember you saying to me, after my callback auditions with mr kwei. you are the best-test sc ever, seriously. you can always add your musicality into every song and always help us visualize what you want in the songs. i know you will go very far in music :)

to the J1 tenors: Issac, Brandon, Linus, Bryan, Keshav, Chong Hian, Jonan, Zhee Yong
it has really been an honour working with you. the road was a really tough and short one, but i am grateful for each and every single one of you, for believing in both yourselves and in me. i know im not the best sl, and im not the most musically inclined but somehow, i managed and i have you guys to thank, for pushing me to my upmost limits. always remember, sing, feel, love ;)

the J2 tenors: Daniel, Mark, Jonas, Jean Peng, Ze Cheng, Yong Sheng, Daryl, Hao Jie
it has already been 2 years huh? wow time flies... it was just yesterday when i first stepped into the choir, and you guys were there with me and we already walked along this road for 2 years since. again, thanks for always listening to me and sharing your problems, and staying back after prac. i know im a cui sl so thank you all for being so patient and putting up with my crap

Musico: Zoe, David, Jia Min, Rachel, Geannie, Sarah, Daniel and Gerald
thanks for always putting up with my nonsense, and waiting for me and the tenors after sectionals :P it is always great to have meetings with you guys up to like 9pm and get chased out of the school by the security guard. i still miss the days when we can just sit down after choir and talk cock even after finishing what we were supposed to discuss. we have really brought the choir to new heights and im so proud to say that im part of this awesome musico :)

mr kwei:
thanks for trusting in me,  for never giving up on us, for scolding us and praising us, and for being such a great mentor. i always admired your boldness in adding choreography into our songs and stuff. i still remember syf day, when you just added your own choreo without telling us. it was so awesome, that final post for mambo, it really stunned the audience, and not to mention us haha

Mark:
i know im not the best when it comes to technique, and i know i need to improve so thanks for always reminding me on what is it i need to focus on for both myself, and each and everyone in the section, and helping me improve on my techniques, though im sure i still suck :P

Jun Jie:
well, i guess being in the comm sucks, especially when there is so much politics. but still, thanks for sharing the shit that happens in the comm, and listening to me share my views on them

Geannie:
my choirmate from ZHSS! well i guess it was awkward to see each other again in AJChoir but still, it was a nice time spent there. thanks for sabotaging me to getting the solo for no importa -.-

NOOBS! /  serangoon gang: Daniel, Vivian, Siew Mun, Glenn and Ng Yong Sheng (yea, the one from ZHSS!!!)
best clique ever! i know we do loads of shit so yea, i really hope that this friendship wont end :)
oh and speaking of the noobs, vivian did her cover for the final one!
i personally thought she can do waaaaaaay better :/
i think she tried too hard, her voice sounds a little hard
i like the start of the second verse though, more... acoustic i guess
i love acoustic covers :)

yep that more or less concludes it
ok been doing shit again, watching glee and some anime i got from sung yang now
kay bye,
off to watch anime

Wednesday, January 23, 2013

stared at the blank page for like an hour, thinking about what to blog about before writing this
haha finally decided to break the hiatus imposed upon myself
well, i was just lazy to blog so yea :P

have been doing shit lately
went for a few outings,
okay will start from where i left off

Aug-Oct, 2012
well, nothing much...
studied (or tried to)
prelims was pretty screwed lol
its funny, my results: A B C D E
yea, one for each subject tested haha
my mom joked that i got a royal flush
but in the end, i guess its still ok?
idk

Nov, 2012'
A level period!
it will be an exam i wont forget,
especially since its the one exam which i felt least prepared for...
screwed up quite a bit for math paper 1 ><
really dreaming throughout the exam sigh
GP was screwed up too...
can only write 4 of the 12 essay questions :/
physics was stupidly hard, especially paper 2 and 3
chem was ok? aiming for an A or B, hopefully an A,
i really dont wanna let my chem tutor down
she has really been super nice to my class, even though we always joke around and screw up our exams, she really didnt give up on us,
really one of the nicest tutors ive met, like when she helped me during the practice for SPA cause she knew i was really too tired and stressed out from choir
well, i guess all my tutors are good up to now, maybe except Bell, my GP tutor
they are really dedicated lah, not to mention good at whatever they teach
im really lucky to have such great tutors for jc,
even though the road was tough, it was nice to have people who know the road to show you the way

after physics paper 1, my class guys went straight for badminton
its kind of an addiction for us since our last game taught in PE was badminton
played from about 4 till 6, then went straight to somerset for movie with the Noobs :)
i think one of my greatest rewards from jc would be this clique called the noobs
as to why we call ourselves noobs, well, i forgot but still, its nice to be noob sometimes huh?
we wanted to watch pitch perfect but in the end settled for Argo, a movie on some hostage thingy, apparently its real haha
it was really quite good, the entire movie, especially the last part when the hostages got into the plane and the captors were pursuing them

Dec 2012-Now
well, nothing much, went for caroling again, it was good to be back in choir :)
went for a few outings, like to send Yun Yi off with the Noobs
it was kinda impromptu cause Glenn last minute planned

then there was class BBQ,
it was awesome, though some last minute pangseh or didnt show :/
Ben Loo was quite pissed at Daniel and Gerald for doing so
i really think Gerald is going overboard sometimes
but oh well, its not my business that he choose hoes over bros and willingly get manipulated by her i guess
i really love my class though.
ive realized that it was my class that stood by me when all the stress from studying and competitions were building up
and despite being so distant due to choir, they will always think of us for outings and such
theyre awesome :)

next came choir chalet
was quite boring, though it was nice to catch up with them
stayover was a total blur cause we mainly just joked around and watched random shows on starworld
then i slept at 6am and woke up around 11
yeah, 6 and i just got KOed haha
totally just lied down and slept like a log cause by 6 i was really 99% dead

so applied for NTU through their early admission
i guess im just trying my luck and hope to get it as a form of recognition
applied for mathematical sciences as a first choice
well, i guess its pretty obvious why i chose that since it has been my favourite subject since young
and many of my math teachers through my educational journey have sparked my interest in it so yea

oh yeah, Vivian (another noob) is trying to audition for 'the final one', this new competition on channel 5
her expectations really too high lol
will post her audition vid if i get the chance to get a copy lol
so the noobs are now just trying to boost her confidence and make her go for it
i personally think she can make it, at least through the video audition round
she can actually rival some of the Youtube stars
and believe me, cause ive been listening to alot lately
my latest addictions are Alex Goot, Against the current (ATC), Sam Tsui and Christina Grimme,
especially the lead singer of ATC, she's only 17 but she has a real good voice
sigh, what am i doing with my life

ok so i got nothing to do now haha
well, going to sung yang's house later to get some stuff
and meeting Don tmr for bowling
which reminds me, should really meet up with sec school friends!
by the time i enlist i guess

was trying to read some blogs when i realised many of the links there are either just left untouched or deleted by their owners
i dont think i will ever delete this blog,
cause it is part of who i was, my past
and i will walk down memory's lane and re-read all my posts again in future
i mean i already do that once in a while and its really great that i see myself growing
and well, some things did stay the same haha

going into deeper stuff, ive been thinking: whats success?
do we all wanna be successful in life
the latter was a question posted to me on job training for sales (really not cut out for it :P)
and it led me to think about the former
well, its good to finally have something to think about cause i feel myself becoming more and more stoopid haha
success... i think its really relative for many of us but to me, success is not getting a 5 figure paycheck, or owning your own successful business
i think success should be less materialistic,
it should come from life's simplest things
i think success should be living to do what you love, and having a happy family
thats what success is to me at this point of my life
i mean, the monetary aspect is just an added bonus, but the most important thing is still our emotional and social well-being

i think im writing this to remind future me that there was once when i thought this way,
i mean, all of us change,
but i guess its healthy to remind yourself of who you are, and were, once in a while

ok long, long post
will begin to write more often, though i still dont think anybody comes here anymore
but i still can get like 1 pageview ocassionally
so yea
ok bb, off to lunch and to Sung yang's house

Friday, August 17, 2012

kays its totally dead here so yea
i think my tumblr's much better than my blog so ...
theres that

didnt really expect much so yea
but my prelims will die for sure :/
gg lah
