NS wasnt what I had expected at first
so on 4th march I enlisted into NS,
after quite a lot of shit and talks and stuff we got introduced into our company, Gryphon, and into our respective platoons and sections
when i got into my section, majority of my section mates were already there and it just so happened that bing you from my jc class was in the same section as me :)
lucky
the first two days went past in a blur
its was just talk after talk after talk
day 3 was when we started our first ever pt, which included aerobics conditioning (which was basically brisk walking) and aerobics
day 4 was the same, and I got my atten c on day 5 ._.
i swear, there is this virus spreading in the company
so i got back on sunday and for the next few days i couldn't do any shit
found out that our encik was leaving and going back to sniper so a staff sergeant was posted to take his place
and he's quite a nice guy, just that he make us do 'disappearing acts', or so he says, which basically requires us to disappear from his sight in 10 secs and appear again when we hear a signal...
ffffff
experienced first hand his short 'pt' session on my day 2
i was already sweating like hell even before the actual warm up
sigh
then day 4 went to see MO for review cause my cough worsened
and got another atten b
wtf
so slacked for another few days
and by the time i got back to ac, they were already running 9 rounds
sigh so now gotta catch up
oh and on our first ever book out day, staff (which is what we call our staff sergeant) made us do some squat thingy
... it was hell
even the fitness instructor who looked fitter that staff couldn't keep up
and one person in platoon 3 got physical exhaustion and was sent to the hospital so now the company is under scrutiny...
so week 4 was a super slack week,
partly cause it rained a lot and cause we had to adhere very strictly to the 15:30 work-rest ratio when the temperature got above 33 degrees
oh well
the sergeants in my company are actually super nice as compared to others
and we really have loads of welfare so i hope that doesnt change any time soon :P
but really, being able to book out at 1.30 for the first 2 official bookouts, sweet
and so todays sunday, which is book in day :/
5pm book in so hopefully there's admin time for us to do shit haha
oh and right, results
im actually quite contented with what i got,
but didnt know why i screwed up in econs :/
oh well
all things considered, im still quite happy.
i really didnt study super hard for As :P
and i got super pissed at my form teacher on thursday...
got home and saw that she told me she cant do my referral for the nus scholarship cause she already did 2 for other students and shes scared that it will affect her credibility...
i really felt betrayed and was really pissed at her irresponsibility
so I had to quickly find some teachers to do the referrals
its really super f-ed up
but luckily my phy and chem tutors were willing to help me do the referrals so i got them to thank (my phy tutor replied almost immediately haha)
it really goes to show how some teachers really do care about their students, while others ... not so much
cause some teachers can actually post this:
This is for all AJC graduates asking for letter of recommendations and appraisal forms:
Please refrain from asking your teachers for letter of recommendations and appraisal forms just days before the deadline. Your teachers and I are very frustrated by the sudden influx of such requests. I just want to raise the point that you are being rather inconsiderate for doing so, if you are one of the culprits.
AJC teacher who chooses to remain anonymous

i think this is such an over-generalisation
i mean, for myself, i got my results on 1st mar, nus application opens on 4th mar, when i enlisted
i applied to the uni when i first booked out and immediately after that, for the scholarships.
and then i asked my teacher for the referral and didnt know she replied since i didnt bring my phone to camp
so... wtf
not for myself alone? yeah, the teachers who take so much effort instilling this into us dont have it in them as well
kk, feel a lil better after ranting...
kaythxbye
